Avro Claus

Here’s Santa Claus using an aircraft rather than the traditional sleigh and reindeer. This has been a common event in aviation around the world in the modern era, with Santa turning up from the skies in a huge range of different types. This is an early example, with Santa using a post Great War Avro 504.

I’ve not found an earlier Santa aircraft ride (excluding the sleigh, of course!) so if any reader can advise, I’m most interested.

I’ve also not found any reliable data on the image – my guess is it’s a post 1918 photo, and going by the American style numbering, a US operated machine, but again if anyone can add details, please let me know and I’ll update the post.
